Job Summary:
As the Warehouse Quality Assurance Supervisor specializing in red chillies, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and ensure the quality of red chillies at our vendor warehouses. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of our red chillies, from the time they are received from growers to when they are ready for export.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise loading and unloading activities for red chillies at vendor warehouses to ensure safe and efficient handling.
- Conduct meticulous quality inspections of red chillies, assessing factors such as freshness, size, color, and overall quality, adhering to industry standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and export requirements, with a specific focus on red chillies.
- Prepare detailed ground reports, meticulously documenting the condition of red chillies, quality issues, and other pertinent information.
- Collaborate closely with vendors, growers, and suppliers to address quality concerns specific to red chillies and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate effectively with logistics and transportation teams to ensure timely pickups and deliveries of red chillies.
- Monitor inventory levels, with a particular emphasis on proper storage conditions for temperature-sensitive red chillies.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of quality inspections, warehouse activities, and inventory management, with a dedicated focus on red chillies.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff, emphasizing red chillies quality control and safety procedures.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures when quality issues related to red chillies are identified.
- Maintain regular communication with the head office to provide updates on warehouse operations, especially those pertaining to red chillies.
- Resolve promptly any quality-related issues that may arise during the export process, particularly those involving red chillies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Food Science, or a related field (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance or warehouse supervision, with a strong background in managing red chillies-related work in the agriculture or agri-business sector.
- In-depth knowledge of quality control standards, safety protocols, and export regulations, with a specific focus on red chillies.
- Exceptional attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to ensuring the quality of red chillies.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with red chillies suppliers and vendors.
- Ability to lead a team and work independently.
- Multilingual proficiency (desired but not mandatory).
- Willingness to travel between vendor warehouses in Guntur as required, with a red chillies-specific focus.
